Delicious Flowers!!! 8 Lucky People, 8 delicious treats.

There are times when you need that extra cheesy pizza out of the blue while passing a nearby bakery due to that fresh baked aroma and smell of pastry and manakeesh is just oozing out from their kitchen. That is how we discovered our todays reviewed bakery. Few years back their use to be another bakery and I stopped by that but dint buy any item because they were priced a fair bit more than other bakeries in that area. However when I entered this time I was surprised to see the whole new set-up, décor and fair prices at this new labeled bakery under new management. “Delicious Flower Bakery”.

The staff was pleasant and patient with us while we looked around and tried to dig in and ask many questions about Chef origin, Customization, variety etc. I tried their Za’ater (Thyme) and a Cheese Manaqesh, which is very tasty and economical indeed. The total, including bill as I was calculating for 3 pastries, 2 soft drinks, 2 manaqesh and for large pizza would not exceed 50dhs even. Definitely not as pricey as I imagined it would be, Fruits tarts, brownie and pastries prices range between 3-5 dhs that’s reasonable. Bottom Line: It’s an awesome visit; pastries are great; staff is great; only negative is there aren’t enough seats inside, as we spot a coffee machine as they are planning to have set-up for the breakfast as well.

I can tell that they use really fresh fruits in their procedures you can about this not just by their look in strawberry and fruits toppings over the fresh cakes but we totally loved the taste.

DSC_0135 DSC_0120

You must try their eggless vanilla cake and the crispy almonds crunch will surely delight you. In case you want to order any customized celebration cake this is the place however make sure to order at least 1 day before and believe me unlike a lot of famous established famous bakeries they will give you good ear and you can elaborate them in details how and what you want.

A Sweet Journey to Candylicious !

A Sweet Journey to Candylicious !

DSC_0338Candylicious is not just a store it a dream concept representing fantasy, joy and inimitable early days reminiscences. It’s a heaven for Candy Lovers and home to the largest ‘pick and mix’ wall in Asia and the Middle East. I recall tourists footing outside posing for pictures at the storefront when I walked past Dubai Mall Store when we visited.

Candylicious — the world’s largest candy store, recently launched its branch in Abu Dhabi at Yas Mall. You won’t miss the store because it is located just next to the Food Court.  Mall Walks with Little humans of my family give us a plea to pass through this store in each trip. DSC_0313

But then last week’s Blogger’s Event Invite for #ASweetJourney from DSC_0283Candylicious made this sweet fantasy a truly memorable experience providing a sneak peak into their Exciting newbie’s at Store such as the Garrett’s Popcorn and Spun Candy stations, followed by lunch at ROGO’S, the world’s biggest ROLLERCOASTERRESTAURANT®.

DSC_0359DSC_0193DSC_0200

I was so impressed by the oversize candy tree in the middle, near the entrance. It was dripping with candy flank & Swirly Spun Lollipops, hanging full of candy bars and chocolate balls. The design and section Management of the store is well engineered & fascinating that it invites curiosity to every by passer who desire to consume every candy available, I felt myself  “Alice in Wonderland” but “Kid in a Candy Store” – Candylicious Version 😉

DSC_0190

We have also been given live demo for Spun Handmade Delicious Confectionery in Covent Garden and believe me seeing a hard candy being made infront of me has major influence on my understanding of what the results look like since its been always my concern when consumed by my kids.

Sight of those Clustered dispenser and lined walls with over 250 pick-and-mix varieties that reaches the ceiling awed me. The store also offers thousands of different products from well-known brands such as M&M’s and Hershey’s, gourmet cookies, lollipops in all shapes and sizes you can imagine, & above all mouth watering smell of popcorn was announcing the Garrett’s Popcorn caramel indulgence.

DSC_0355 DSC_0237DSC_0233 DSC_0287

They have my very favorite Oh-so-Yummy Tiny & Chewy Jell Belly in all flavors; it can burst happiness in your mouth. We had an opportunity to taste some delicious candies and also take away some with us too. We tasted the signature Reese’s Peanut butter chocolate too.

Word of caution: All in all it was great event; Sweets, Treats and Candy Galore, What a Celebration they had in store. This store casts a spell and mesmerize all specially the candy lovers and chances are that you may shop till you drop so do watch your calories, watch your teeth, Keep shopping as they gluten free options too 😀

Brunching at 18 Degrees – Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi

Brunching at 18 Degrees – Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi

Featured Brunch:

 DSC_0881 DSC_0933

From Jazz brunches to lavish brunch buffets, Mahi Blog declare 18° as one of the best weekend brunches available in #UAE. It was startling & an indulgent experience itself to brunch at Worlds Furthest Leaning Man-Made Tower.  Venue stars as the winner of the “Best Modern European Restaurant”, however their Friday buffet also includes cuisine from Italy, Turkey, Greece and Lebanon. Its ambiance and structure is surely manifest. It is so modern in sophistication yet so simple & family oriented, as I believe Brunch is all about the most relax and cozy time you ought to spend with family and friends catering to variety of choices and yet keeping a balance to its theme. To make that perfect menu is an art itself and a lovely presentation and set-up has indeed made our experience at 18 degree brunch Exclusive and Exciting.

Let’s TALK ABOUT Food Menu:

Arabic cold mezze, Fattoush & Muhammara dip stands out; Quinoa salad is very distinctive in cold dishes. Soup Section’s variety didn’t impress us a lot, though their cheese Counter is ample and diverse with some tasty chutneys and pickles.

Ostensibly the Modern Counters and cooking stations tells the story of Huge pantry loud out. Their Raw bar (seafood section) may appear to have a lot in common with other European style brunch buffet however Dil marinated Salmon and Local Blue Crabs are must-try items. The Roasted juicy Corn fed Chicken, Striplion Beef meat and Wood baked whole Stuffed Fish is so rich in its taste & display and was beyond par, Béarnaise sauce made of clarified butter emulsified in egg yolks was there to complement the roasted item and we love strong Herbs flavor in case you are not fan of this taste than veal jus reduction comes to rescue as it adds to the richness of the dish, grilled veggies was our favorite side along with fish Yorkshire pudding.

Keep enjoying the elegant view of Abu Dhabi city while brunching and efficient services and decorum stands on its hold merits.

WOW Factor:

  • Antipasti – (Missed giving special attention to minor items !?!? often happens to big buffet) Guess what It’s definitely not the case here we loved the Grilled eggplant, zucchini, Roasted Mushrooms and deep fried Artichokes (I never tasted them so well if fried; before).
  • Their Beetroot Mutabel is their tastiest and good-looking shooter you will love and enjoy.
  • Kids loved their Sujuk (Sojouck – Spicy Sausage) and Margarita Pizza.
  • There is fair attentive communication involved if you wish to customized any of the item from the spreaded menu counters, rest assure they will make sure to get your exact requirements and bring your dish to table exactly how you need, we loved our steak with mashed creamy potatoes and pomegranate.
  • Don’t forget to ask ever-smiling staff for your Bread basket, Rye & Panini Roll were delicious with seasoned butters. Smoked paprika & Garlic give us a face-off judging moment there.

Wait – It’s Not yet Done !

A visit to the dessert counter is a decadent must as it finished off our meal really well. You have an array of items to choose from, we loved Passion Fruit and Banana Meringue, Banoffie Pie, Tiramisu, Poached Strawberry with Vanilla Cream and Hot Chocolate Pudding !

Winding Up:

It definitely promises an elite and impressive experience where diners can enjoy a wide array of Eastern Mediterranean fare, inspiration is drawn from the restaurant’s à la carte menu, their hot dishes also presents Saffron Rice, chicken curry and Homemade Pasta in case you have fussy little humans along with you. Worth knowing that all their ingredients are sourced from the freshest local produce to not only produce sumptuous food, but commit to sustainable practices as well. If you are not in hurry for home when brunch ends you may enjoy a sundowner on The Terrace of 18° – 80 meters up, with panoramic views of City coastline, at their Sunset Cocktails while watching the ebbing sun.
