RAS – AL- KHAIMAH BEAUTY We have decided to visit for a family Staycation to some distant spot this time, hence after careful scrutiny we chose an emirate which names after it’s meanings “Top of the tent” or alternatively “headland of the small hut, RAS-AL-KHAIMAH, The city was historically known as Julfar, is in the northern part of the UAE, bordering Oman’s exclave of Musandam.

We chose to be at some resort this time! “Any time spent at the beach is time well spent”. Our search for the same indicated “Hilton Ras al Khaimah Resort & Spa. Being state-of-art property in the region huddled in a dazzling private bay on the northern tip of the Arabian Peninsula and overlooking the sea, Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & spa offers an tranquil getaway for business or leisure. Combining tasteful Chalets with trendy modern rooms, having a balcony or private patio with open way in to the striking pallid sandy seashore.

City Walk We dint even feel the time while we were at the property, as it has literally a world of activities to keep yourself indulge in, however if you’re a keen traveler and have a longer stay there are many activities to enjoy and places to discover around the resort like horse riding, golf or quad biking in nearby areas.  Souks and RAK Museum and main tourist attractions. Fly the aviation Club or join a sky tour by seaplane. Trips are also available inland to see the desert, go on a mountain safari or sail in a traditional dhow in the beautiful Musandam.

On our previous trips to Ras-al-Khaimah we have been to Iceland Waterpark and Dreamland and it was indeed an unforgettable day out, they are not too far away, so if while staying at Hilton Resorts pools and beach is not enough give a try for that thrilling experience at these places.

Hilton RAK Arrival & Check-in:

If you are driving along your GPS, it will bring you to exact location without much confusion, do not go for alternate route options though L After reaching hotel our check-in was prompt and smooth, with ever –smiling faces at the front desk staff. We were been given the directions for elevator area to reach our floor. The property is immaculately kept and the eminence of service is incredible. 

Room & Amenities:

We stayed at one of their Hilton Family Suite without balcony, but it had pool & beach view from full glass wall in the living room; There is enough space for our family in this spacious 90 sq. m. /967 sq. ft. suite with separate living room and two king beds, that plush bed made my sleep truly peaceful. Some similar suites also have a balcony (subject to availability).

We experienced the oh-so-comfy room feeling, my kids just relaxed on the sofa, surf the web with WiFi and enjoyed kid’s movie on the LCD TV. The suite also features a large bathroom with walk-in shower & the surprise treat built-in jacuzi, as I was so tired in travelling that same day we couldn’t go down to the pool but kids had their due share of enjoyment in our mini in-house Jacuzi. We will definitely go back to this great resort and recommend it to everyone we know. Make sure to do a spa treatment while you are there! we missed it but it is a must as mentioned by a friend!

Pools & Water Sports:

 The resort’s pools are indeed a great feature, you may dip into one of six different swimming pools and enjoy a great range of water sports, including snorkeling, waterskiing, sailing, jet skiing and diving. We loved the fact that beach location was the best in the area, had everything our party of 4 could want and best of all, the staff at this resort was so kind and went out of their way to anticipate our every need. We had fun doing several activities in the day ranging from Swimming fun to pool aerobics, Jumping castle to Park rides and Kid’s Paradise activities.

  

 

At night we roll again as the sensational beach walk is 1 minute away and it was fun for all of us. On the next day we enjoyed benches yes you may lay on the beach or pool side and it was like a trance!

Kids Paradise: 

We love the Kids Club with indoor and outdoor playground, pools and slide, my kids have spent most time there. A world of fun awaits even when you go outside in the front area of Kids Paradise from water slides, kids pool and playground, to gardens and indoor playrooms with supervised activities with humbled, kind and moreover professional staff.

I love the level of cleanliness and well kept tools at kids paradise with special care to kids hygiene.  There is something for Kids of all ages there, the upstairs section feature many educational toys and learning objects and the fun cradles for kids from 0-5 age, we love the “Groovy kids” statement. Professional babysitting services are also available and trust me the staff mingled and had their bonding with my kids in no time.

WOW FACTOR:

• A very family-friendly spot and an ultimate Spot for Staycation (Stay in Vacations) covering over all activities for all ages.
• If you love calm ocean water – this is the place! Because of the location/direction of the beach the resort has a rare stretch of very calm water. This made for excellent swimming, if also a less exciting time in the water 🙂 
• The resort is just a 25-minute drive from
  RAK International Airport.
• 14 restaurants including 4 specialty restaurants

Other Features:

Spa Facilities You may choose from different treatment rooms, two hammam Turkish baths, as well as a Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The professional spa team soothe your senses with pampering body treatments, rejuvenating facials and blissful massages.

Fitness Resort’s fitness centre features the latest generation of cardio and strength training equipment, If you are health conscious you can simply stay fit with yoga and aerobics room.

Mahi Blog Recommends:

Highly recommended!! We rate it 4.5 out of 5 (as we couldn’t review the Spa in this trip but will head their soon) ! Overall, we loved it and would definitely recommend it. Definitely going back to this resort again. It was much nicer than we expected, from the front of the hotel to the incredible ocean-front view directly in front of our room, which was located up on the high floor.

We stayed their with our kids who are aged 5, 6 and we all agreed this was the best resort in the area. The staff was incredible and every single person on staff acknowledged and greeted us with a friendly hello and a genuine smile.The rooms were amazing (clean, airy, beautiful views).

It has a wealth of fine dining and outstanding amenities and we will never forget the magical moment when we witnessed a magnificent sunset from the Garden area, infront of Shallots.

Buffet at Maarid: 

It’s Grand, Services are very functional and pleasant.  a tad expensive per head, but one could forgive it for the quality and variety they serve. Courteous and attentive staff are very alert and you will see them moving around you to assist all the t ime. Breakfast & dinner both were perfect and what I loved the most was lassi they serve on the buffet! I was so thrilled and impressed with their live counters especially at the breakfast, swift and very well organized, it won’t make you stand in long queue as they mastered their trick and provide you with your order in no time. Suuny side up! Omellete with capsicum or mushroom anyone !

 

It offers diners not just the finest selection of authentic dishes from around the world, but an elegant, luxurious setting in which it’s lovely to enjoy the pool outdoor views as well as peaceful in-house dining. I loved the fact how the table and seats setting is compatible suiting the needs of  diners and their family mix, encounter this group of 6 young kids sitting in high chairs with table slab setting spot near fruit/salad/Yogurt area having their own fun chat and giggles while the elders of the family are enjoying their breakfast in cozy sofas nearby.  Live cooking stations located at 2 places at the venue combined with a sumptuous buffet provide for a truly unique dining experience.

 The beauty of Maarid is not only the huge array of buffet style cuisine, but also being able to watch the chefs cook up something special of your choice at one of the live cooking stations, in a open-theatre-style setting having buffet at both sides of it. We enjoyed the buffet inside once and were seated at a table outside the other, overlooking the pools.The buffet is well thought out and includes a wide range of options including seafood consisting of fresh lobster, prawns, crab and fresh fish, steak that is cooked to your liking, curries, an array of Arabic style meat and lots of fresh sides to choose from. Desserts have many choices too. 

MAARID overall has stylish interior and as soon as you enter the place you feel the  flavors and tempting aromas from live cooking areas. Their kid’s menu area is separate incase they want to get busy with some arts and activities while eating their food from the counters nearby.

Pura Vida – A little bit of Brazil shine on Ras-al-Khaimah 

It is a place where you can simply coddle your sanity with a taste of Brazilian Churrasco all-you-can-eat-meat, served rodizio style. Although Maarid Restaurant in same hotel truly is an all-day dining destination however this is a specialty restaurant.

We were humbly invited to have a special dine-out in a concealed and tranquil spot, I would say perfect spot for lovers! beach front restaurant, amazing atmosphere, delightful food, very romantic ambience, and yes definitely need to mention the Brazil strong impact of churascos.
